Zacapu is famous for best Mexican cyclists, is located 65 Km from Zamora; Zacapu was the birthplace of the pre-Columbian Empire of the Purhépecha. Zacapu is surrounded by archaeological areas, lakes and springs.

 

A first stop will be the Church of Santa Ana and Franciscan monastery of the XVI century, built by the enigmatic monk Jacobo Daciano, founder and evangelizing of several towns in Michoacán, Danish kings' son and benefactor of the Indigenous Peoples.

The main stop will be the cone of a volcano in whose interior you can appreciate a beautiful lake which is called "eye of the ocean", with waters of green color, surrounded by exuberant vegetation, place well-known as "The Reservoir" of Los Espinos. A beautiful and enigmatic place full with legends.
