TOUR OVERVIEW

The volcano Paricutín (Parhikutini) is a relative young volcano, born in February of 1943 located in to the south of the Patamban Mountains (Sierra de Patamban) between the towns of San Juan Parangaricutiro and Angahuan.

 

A scenic journey to the forest area near the volcano. You will visit the Santiago Apostol Church of plateresque - Moorish style of the XVI century. Angahuan is thepoint of departure for the adventurers that want to arrive at the volcano, in the tourist camp there are murals with legendary stories of the volcano and Purépechas town, in its museum there is access to documental about the volcano. the local people offer services of horses rent. Close to the volcano there are ruins of the old town of San Juan'.

 

In Zacán a picturesque population you will visit the Church of San Pedro Church and old Monastery, it was founded in 1560 by Augustinian priorate, and the chapel of Santa Rosa from Lima from 1663.

 

In Zacán you will enjoy the wonderful typical foods that will be provided. Afterwards you will return to your hotel.
