TOUR OVERVIEW

In this mystic journey you will travel to the "Meseta Purépecha" mountains and you will live some of the most scenic sites on this tours, you will also visit the XVI century chapels that were built under the impetus of of Bishop Vasco de Quiroga, during his time as bishop many hospitals were also built by the Franciscans and by the Augustinians as part of their missions.

 

Many of these structures were lavishly furnished and decorated with impressive paintings on wooden ceilings and choirs - another feature largely unique to colonial Michoacán.

 

The sightseeing places will be: 1) Paracho, famous town for its crafts in wood, the best guitars and violins of the country. 2) Pomacuarán, the chapel of San Miguel Archangel (1672); 3) Nurio, the chapel of Santiago Apostle (1639) and chapel of Virgin of the Purisima Concepción (XVII century); Cocucho, remote rural community known by their long and stylized pots, will visit one the chapel of San Bartolomé's Apostle (XVI century), 4) Charapan, the chapel of San Antonio from Padua and chapel of Pedro de Gante (XVII century).

 

In Zacán you will enjoy the wonderful typical foods that will be provided.

 

Afterwards you will return to your hotel.
