TOUR OVERVIEW

In this mystic journey you will experience a special night, the Day of Dead, the big party of the towns around Lake Pátzcuaro in Michoacán, At night, sepulcher are decorated with candles and flowers and the local villagers spend the night, awaiting the return of the dead in celebration as the sounds of bells ringing, people chanting and the smell of incense fill the air.

In Michoacán, the commemoration of the Day of Dead is a solemn tradition and genuine manifestation of deep respect and adoration to the beings that materially no longer exist and who receive a tribute through the offerings.

 

This night journey from Zamora to Lakeside of Pátzcuaro Lake. The first stop will be the Puacuaro cemetery to see this religious manifestation.

 

The second stop will be Erongarícuaro Main square where local people make Altars, and finally arrive to Arocutin cementer , there you will see a typical Day of Dead, also the old chapel of Our Lady of the Nativity built in the XVI century, living a more traditional atmosphere that Janitzio.
