Zamora de Hidalgo is a city located in the Mexican state of Michoacan de Ocampo, Mexico. The city is heading in the town of Zamora, one of the 113 municipalities that make up the state of Michoacán. Zamora de Hidalgo is located in a broad valley in the northeast of the state. Since the end of the twentieth century, the city of Zamora is with the metropolitan town of Jacona Plancarte. Zamora bordered on the north by the municipality and the municipality of Ixtlan Ecuandureo, on the east by the municipality and Churintzio of Tlazazalca, south of the town of Jacona Plancarte and the Tangancícuaro, and to the west Tangamandapio and Chavinda.

 

Located in a fertile valley, Zamora has traditionally been the focus of an important agricultural area in Michoacán. The region is leading producer of blackberry and strawberry crops, and is noted for its industrial activity with processing and packing of fruits mainly exported abroad.
